Services

I assist individuals who are tired of feeling overwhelmed and controlled by their thoughts and emotions. If you feel like you've been stuck in a cycle of stress, anxiety, or trauma, I am here to help shift those patterns. Together, we will explore the connection between your mind and body while increasing awareness of your nervous system and its responses so you can begin to feel safe within yourself, and in the world around you.

It takes tremendous courage to embark on the journey of personal growth and I consider it an honour to be part of this experience alongside you.

Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)

What is SSP?

The Safe and Sound Protocol is a five-hour auditory intervention designed to reset the nervous system and return it to safety. Designed by Dr. Stephen Porges, SSP is helpful for people struggling with social and emotional difficulties, anxiety and trauma, inattention, and auditory sensitivities.

This non-invasive intervention involves listening to music that has been processed specifically to help clients regulate their nervous systems, process external cues and signals more effectively, and attain a grounded state in which they feel safe and calm.

“We can’t control external situations or obstacles, but we can change how our brain and nervous system respond to them.”

How does it work?

The SSP allows for the repatterning of neural networks and improved regulation of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) for lasting change. Based on hierarchical recruitment of the ANS, the SSP trains the middle ear muscles to tune-in to cues of safety signaled by the frequencies of human voice, which stimulates the social engagement system through the neural network associated with listening. When the Middle ear muscles work properly the background noise is dampened and the nervous system is not activated as easily, thus preventing flight/fight/freeze as easily.  The listener is able to focus and hear human speech (higher frequency) easier.  Listening is connected with the vagus nerve, our body’s internal control center for processing and responding to cues and signals from our environment.

If you are interested in learning more about SSP, please schedule a free consultation with me. Fees are based on my hourly rate of $200 plus an onboarding fee for the MyUnyte App and text/email support between sessions.
